Your First Stop for Curiosity

We’ve answered the most common questions about Çimstone products, their applications, and daily use. Browse the topics below to quickly find the information you’re looking for.

How can I preserve the natural beauty of Çimstone?

Routine care is all it takes. A damp cloth and a small amount of liquid detergent are enough for daily cleaning. Thanks to its compact structure, Çimstone is stain-resistant and restores its clean, fresh look with just a wipe.

For more tips, see our Care & Maintenance Guide.

How do I remove dried residues or stubborn stains?

Use a plastic scraper to gently remove dried materials such as paint, nail polish, gum, mustard, or heavy oils. Then clean the surface with water. For persistent stains, apply a kitchen or bathroom surface cleaner, scrub lightly with a soft sponge, and rinse thoroughly. Bleach-based gel cleaners are also highly effective for tough stains. Never let cleaning products dry on the surface without rinsing.

Is Çimstone a durable material?

Çimstone is highly resistant to breakage, abrasion, and scratches. However, it is not indestructible. Like all surfaces, it can be permanently damaged by strong chemicals, sudden temperature changes, or heavy impact. Always follow the Care & Maintenance Guide and use cutting boards and trivets to extend its lifespan.

Can I cut directly on my Çimstone countertop?

The quartz mineral in Çimstone has a hardness level of Mohs 7, offering high scratch resistance. While it can withstand direct chopping and slicing, we recommend using a cutting board to preserve its appearance over the years.

Is Çimstone heat-resistant?

Çimstone handles brief contact with heat better than many other stones, but like all materials, it’s vulnerable to thermal shock. Avoid placing hot pots or pans directly on the surface—always use a trivet. Continuous or extreme heat exposure may cause cracks, discoloration, or surface distortion, especially near joints or corners.

Is Çimstone safe for food preparation?

Yes. Çimstone has a non-porous, compact surface that does not absorb liquids or harbor bacteria. It complies with TSE standards and meets NSF 51 criteria, which certifies its suitability for direct food contact—equivalent to stainless steel. Ideal for both residential and commercial kitchens.

Are there any cleaning products or chemicals I should avoid?

Yes. Avoid prolonged exposure to:

- Alkaline cleaners with active hydroxide (e.g., drain openers)
- Solvents like trichloroethane or methylene chloride (e.g., paint removers or degreasers)

If contact occurs, rinse the surface immediately with water.

Should I apply polish to my Çimstone surface?

No. Çimstone is naturally glossy due to the quartz inside. It does not require polishing or on-site resurfacing. Such treatments can damage the surface and are not recommended.

How does Çimstone maintain its shine?

Çimstone's shine comes from quartz’s natural luster, not artificial polish. It retains its smooth surface for years without polishing.

- Glossy surfaces: Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

- Matte surfaces: These show fingerprints and smudges more easily, so they may require more frequent cleaning. Use non-abrasive cleaners regularly and rinse thoroughly.

Will knives or metal objects scratch the surface?

Knives won't scratch Çimstone, but metallic rubbing (e.g., belt buckles, zippers) may leave grey marks, which are not scratches but metal deposits. Remove them with a soft sponge and cleaning spray or gel. To maintain its shine, we recommend using a cutting board.
